Tamim out of ODIs

Bangladesh’s walking wounded grew with the news that dashing opener Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the remaining two one-dayers against Sri Lanka after suffering a hairline fracture on his right thumb.The injury occurred while he was fielding at point in the eighth over of the first one-dayer in Hambantota on Saturday.

Tamim (112), who hit his country's first one-day century against Sri Lanka, went to hospital for an X-ray afterwards and was told he had a hairline fracture.

Team physio Vibhav Singh later told Reuters that the player was out for the rest of the series.

Tamim had earlier his injured right wrist during the Bangladesh Premier League and could not play in the first Test, but recovered to make a maiden fifty in the second and final Test.
